Helping Homeowners Stay in Their Homes

Nevada County Housing and Community Services has announced new funding through the Manufactured Housing Opportunity and Revitalization (MORE) Program to repair or replace manufactured and mobile homes for lower-income homeowners living in the county’s mobile home parks.

Applications are open now and will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Why This Program Matters

Manufactured and mobile homes are a vital source of affordable housing in Nevada County, but many of these homes face deferred maintenance, safety concerns, and aging infrastructure. This funding helps preserve housing affordability by ensuring residents can safely remain in their homes.

The program will give priority to:

  • Homes with health and safety code violations
  • Homes built before 1976, which may be eligible for full replacement
  • Properties needing accessibility improvements or energy-efficiency upgrades

Who Can Apply

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Own and live in a manufactured or mobile home located in a mobile home park in Nevada County
  • Have a household income at or below 80% of the area median income

For example:

  • A single-person household can earn up to $58,350 per year
  • A family of four can qualify with an income up to $83,350

Full income guidelines are available on the Nevada County Housing and Community Services website.

How to Apply

Funding is provided through the MORE Program, administered by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).

Eligible residents are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible since funding is limited and processed in the order received.

To apply and learn more about the program, visit the Nevada County Housing and Community Services website.
